Monday Update - BOSTON!
Happy Cinco de Mayo! I don't live in Mexico, so I don't celebrate this holiday but whoever does, I hope they celebrate all day! Today my friends and I are going up to Boston to walk around and shop. I haven't been in 2 years since my high school band played at the Berkley Jazz Festival and we won second in our division! (This year they won first! So proud of them!) Anyway, I will post some pictures from our trip and Wednesday I will post what we ate :)

May the Fourth be with you, Audrey!
So many of you might know, or may not, that today is May 4th and many people correlate that with the phrase "May the Force be with you" from Star Wars. Also, today is Audrey Hepburn's birthday!! She would have been turning 85 today! Many of you might not know this, but Audrey Hepburn is my idol. I didn't know about her until I was in 7th grade though. So that was about eight years ago now, yeesh! So, I was at an art festival in my state that is always around Columbus Day weekend and they have all kinds of crafts. They have clothing, jewelry, FOOD (of course) and different bits and bobs. I usually go every year with my mom, which I did when I was in 7th grade. After we ate funnel cake we meandered into the paintings area and found a guy that did portraits. They were those big headed portraits that were made from pastels. I begged my mom to let me get it done and she unwillingly accepted. After waiting in line, the man doing the portraits asked me if I was related to this woman named Audrey Hepburn. I had no idea who she was, but he said I looked like her. So I took the compliment and when we got home that evening my mom showed me her collectible Barbie Doll of Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady. I fell in love with Audrey and I have even written school reports on her! She is an amazing woman, from her life growing up during World War II and her final days with UNICEF.
Unlike most Audrey Hepburn fans, my favorite movie of hers is not Breakfast at Tiffany's. I do like the movie, but I hate how she lets her cat go towards the end. I know that may seem silly but I love cats haha. I have not watched many of her movies besides Breakfast at Tiffany's, My Fair Lady, Sabrina and Paris When It Sizzles but I am hoping to watch them all! My favorite is Paris When It Sizzles. I think it will always be my favorite! I just love the story line so much I wish I could live it. I wish I could be like her with guys though. Just ignoring them and them coming to you instead of the other way around. I admire her character so much. I probably will get a tattoo of her some day or a quote or something. She's such an inspiring woman and I hope to be like her some day!

Sophomore Year
So, my sophomore year of college is finally over.. well the classes are but I still have exams. I have an online exam for Economics, a portfolio to finish writing for my Writing class, an actual exam Friday for Communications and I have to make a pair of jeans for a fellow classmate in my Modaris class. Next week will be so busy for me! Tomorrow I will be in the school's studio from morning probably until it closes and then my friends and I are going to Boston Monday. They want me to sleep over though so I guess the party starts tomorrow night! haha but then Tuesday I have to work, Wednesday my final jeans are due, Thursday I scored a design interview for a shop on a local island this summer and Friday I have another exam. Saturday? I have no idea. I'm trying to keep busy too because of my 'significant other' that doesn't know how to make up his mind. We're apparently on a 'break' starting today.. it's all weird and new to me and basically sounds like an excuse.
Okay, so enough of that update, I cannot wait for this interview!! It would be awesome to score the internship with this designer and it would be so sweet to get a job in the fall with them! I'm hoping this summer will be a good one. I never really have a 'fun' summer but it will be this year! I need to stop worrying and waiting around for people.
Sophomore year was basically a blur for me though. I can barely remember the fall semester because it went by so quickly! I had a draping and a pattern making class that were the death of me. Literally every class we had something due and another assignment. And they were two different classes! Well I'm glad I got the experience and can put it on my resumé! This semester I had a class on the Modaris computer program which is digital pattern making software. Same as last semester though, it all became a blur with everything being due at once. I'm just grateful I learned a lot this semester and I got to participate in my first fashion show!
This fall I have the second Economics class, a written/reading and oral french classes, a nutrition class and I can finally take the Apparel Design class that I have been trying to get into for the past year! I was scheduled to take it last semester but seeing how only 3 people were in the section, it wouldn't run. Then this semester it was during the Modaris course. I decided to take the Textile Science course next spring so I could take Apparel Design. Maybe I'll be in France next spring though...hmm. I'm still deciding on this because of the 'significant other' issue I mentioned. Well, we will just have to wait and see what happens! Only time will tell :)
This summer will just be a fresh start, to find myself and not let someone in a relationship walk all over me because I'm afraid of us leaving each other. Sometimes I feel like I help change the lives of the people I meet, but I've never had someone do that for me. I would love for someone to pay for my gas when I was jobless and take me out all the time. I don't know why I do things like that for people that treat me badly, I can't help it sometimes. I will change though because I'm worth more than that. On that note, I will talk about the fashion show tomorrow in another post!

Menswear Monday: Bespoke
So if I haven't already said this, I am in University studying Fashion Design and I am able to participate in my department's annual fashion show (finally!). It's this Friday and I am so excited for it!! So anyway I'm obviously thinking about my collection for next year and as the title might suggest, I want need to do menswear.. for women. In short, tailored jackets and pant suits for women.
I have always wanted to do some kind of work with women's suits but no the old boring ones that business people wear on a daily basis. I want celebrities to wear my suits to events because they will be high fashion. My favorite pantsuit ever is definitely Yves Saint Laurent's famous suit from the 1970's. You might have seen this photo before if you are interested in fashion, it is my absolute favorite. I practically drool every time I look at it. It's just perfect even the name, "Le Smoking".
I don't even wear suits but I'm still obsessed. When I'm a famous fashion designer I'm definitely going to be wearing these sexy suits to an event. Sometimes I like them more than the gowns on the runways, award shows or events. There's just something about them I love, it's indescribable if you can't tell ha ha.

My Week In Pictures 3.23-3.29
School these past few weeks has been so hectic! Exams, homework and this fashion show in two weeks have taken up so much of my time. I'm actually doing some last minute homework now. I'm so glad my first class is cancelled tomorrow morning so I can catch up on either homework or sleep!
3.18 - So for the fashion show I am doing swim wear and these are the first pairs of bottoms I've ever made! It was foolish of me not to do a test run of them first, but my sewing machine only works correctly on occasion so I had to work with that! They came out great though, if I do say so myself ;) And yes, I know these were not made from last week but I didn't take another picture since a few weeks ago.
3.26 - I also made some chain body jewelry for the show. It's my first show so I'm trying to keep it simple since I have no idea how to style the accessories, makeup, hair, even the shoes! Those are being a pain because my models do not answer me until the day before, but hey at least I'm getting a response right?
3.27 - I basically live at JoAnn's Fabric store. I went there probably 20 times in the past two weeks to buy fabric and I didn't even use half of it! I'm glad though because they return fabric if you don't cut it! I have a bunch of pink spandex and some white fabric I didn't use. I'm proud of myself for only wasting one thing of fabric this time! I was trying to make a coverup and completely messed it up but all the black, nude and pink fabric for the bathing suits was used up completely. I've never been so proud of myself for not wasting my money haha. And the floral print fabric in my basket next to my feet is currently being made into pants that I'm going to wear to the show next Friday! Stay tuned!
Have a great week everyone!
P.S. Try to stay on top of your work/school work haha

What I Ate Wednesday - Breakfasts
So I'm a day late and a dollar short, but the pictures wouldn't upload while I was at school yesterday. I also now have free time to write a post haha. I've been so busy with school lately and I got a flat tire yesterday when I got out of my last class which is fantastic...not
My mom recently bought croissants while grocery shopping which I didn't find for a few days later. So while running late for class last week I heated one up, cut it in half (which I advise you to cut it in half BEFORE heating it up) and slathered some Nutella on each half. Then I sliced a banana and added that on top :)
A few days later I basically did the same thing for work. I just substituted the croissants with some chocolate chip waffles which were even better!

I haven't had pop tarts in so long! I found some S'mores pop tarts and I have had them every morning since! Obviously toasted with cranberry juice since nobody's bought OJ in a while.

January/February Empties
My first empties post! I have had a lot of products I've used up lately so I kind of kept them in my makeup bag to save for a post and I have about 3 maybe 4 products to show you guys!
So I think I have a slight obsession with face wipes... I even have mini packs in my purse for when I sleep out. I know, it's bad but I can't help it! I just have this weird issue with washing my face with face wash if I'm not in the shower. I just hate when my hair gets all wet in the front and I can't see anything and then my face gets cold if I don't dry it fast enough. Just a whole list of problems haha so I started using face wipes to remove my makeup when I'm not in the shower and they're a dream. I am just about finished with these Maybelline face wipes and they're OK compared to the others I have used. They do leave a greasy/oily feeling and look after using them though. But I am glad that they smell good because some that I have tried smell horrible. I will probably do a mass review on all of the face wipes I have tried so far.
Next, I got a sample of Benefit''s Hello Flawless!' Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation in a birchbox last year and I immediately fell in love with it! I use the lightest shade which is 'I'm Pure 4 Sure' Ivory and sometimes it can still be a little too dark. But it could just be my horrible bathroom lighting. I also have a problem with foundations because I find them all to be too yellowy toned when I am more of a pink undertone. I literally have tried every drugstore BB cream known to man and nothing has been just right. I mean, this foundation has the best consistency for me, just a little yellowy. Also, if you have dry skin or flaky skin I suggest using a face scrub a few times a week because this foundation like enhances the dead skin trying to peel off. Trust me, it is quite annoying when people ask what's on your face haha.
Oh good God I literally love this hand cream. Soap and Glory's Hand Food Hand Cream is to dye for. I bought a purse size (1.7 oz) at my local JCP Sephora for $5 back in November and I just ran out the other day. Definitely lasted me a while and it worked wonders on my dry hands. I absolutely HATE when my hands feel dry after washing them at school or in a restaurant so this hand cream has saved my life so many times. The smell of it is subtle and definitely not too strong and the packaging is just too cute with the pink! I have not tried a lot of Soap and Glory products but some of my favorite YouTubers, like FleurDeForce, rave about their products (especially the gloss sticks that I want but my local Sephora doesn't carry them and I don't want to pay $5 for shipping online).
