Style Saturday - Baby Bow Hats 5.10

I love to knit, as one could tell from my Etsy shop (linked in the side bar) and I stumbled upon this pattern for a newborn and it is to die for! I also have a love for bows (I sell hair bows on my Etsy too haha) and it's two of my favorite things in one. Even the colors, I love pink and gray haha. So basically if I had a baby girl she would be wearing this all day every day. I've decided though that I want to make it a few sizes bigger with maybe bigger needles and make a newborn baby boy's hat for the Saccone Jolys. They have a 20 month old named Emelia and a 1 month old baby boy named Eduardo. They are moving to the UK soon though so I might wait until the move.
I'm also thinking about selling this hat in my shop, let me know what you think! And definitely check out their vlogs I'm obsessed with them :)

Foodie Friday - 5.9.14

Sorry about not posting yesterday! I almost made it doing one post a day but I can make it for next week! I think I should at least do them one day ahead of time because sometimes I just get busy with things and forget. Today I didn't have my exam until 3PM so I went to the store for some ingredients to bake!

I had to get lemons and eggs for this recipe and they came out awesome. I have only made lemon squares a few times before but these are the best I have ever had. I think it's because they're made will lemon juice from all 6 lemons (even though I only had to use 4). I also had to zest the lemon with a knife because I don't have a zester and I juiced the lemons with my hands and a fork haha.

I also made a pesto, tomato and mozzarella grilled sandwich that came out awesome too! That recipe can also be found here. However, I used pre-made pesto from the grocery store.

Happy cooking/baking everyone!

What I Ate Wednesday - Day Trip to Boston

Taking the time to spend with your friends is truly priceless. Since this semester (and last) started, I barely got to see my best friends anymore. We hug out all summer and then school starts and BAM all you can think about is school. It doesn't help that we all work and have different lives though. So my two best friends invited me to go to Boston on a day trip. We got up to Harvard Square (where I have not been before) around noon time and it took us a half hour to find parking. Then we found a 30 minute meter and went to an international bookstore called Schoenhof's Foreign Books. I bought a mini French - English dictionary and my favorite French book Madame Bovary by Flobert. Such a beautifully tragic novel and it describes modern day relationships perfectly! I had to read it last summer for a literature in translation course so you can find it in English!

So we started our day off like we usually do with some Dunkin Donuts. I always get an iced hazelnut with a chocolate sprinkled donut :)

Later in the day we all had to use the bathroom but in order to do so, you have to buy something in a restaurant. So we found a Panera Bread and we all bought something cheap because we weren't too hungry. I got a half of a Chicken Ceasar sandwich with the kettle cooked chips they usually come with.

As you can tell, we didn't have much of a dinner either. We got back home and one of my friend suggested getting ice cream so we went to a local shop and I got a small Moose Tracks. If you don't know what Moose Tracks ice cream is, it's vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups and chocolate throughout the ice cream. We were so tired after our long day that we went back to get our things and fell asleep for a few hours until 10p.m. when I had to leave. Overall though it was a great day and definitely well needed with them!

Beauty Tuesday - Daily Makeup Routine

I don't think I have done a makeup post in a while, so today I will show you guys what I wear on my face everyday! I first start off by taking a shower, but if not I use my Say Yes to Carrots face wipes.

Next I make sure my hands are clean and then I use my Hello Oxygen Wow foundation by Benefit in "I'm pure for sure" Ivory. I apply that all over my face with one pump.

I then go in with my Maybelline Dream Lumi concealer and the Urban Decay Primer Potion on my lids.

After applying all of my bases, I go back over my face with Rimmel's Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. I really see a difference when using this powder compared to others because my face does not look or feel oily on my temples like when I use another powder.

Occasionally I will use blush and I use NYX's PB25 Pinched. This is the first blush I have really used and it gives such a nice pink glow that looks great on my pale complexion.

For Eye shadow, I use the Naked Basics pallet by Urban Decay.

I start with the third lightest eyeshadow and sweep that across my entire lid. Then I use the other side of my brush to use the fourth shade in my crease. Sometimes I will use the lightest shade in this pallet or my NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk for my inner corner.

I also will occasionally use eyeliner, so when I do, I use NYX's felt tip liner in Extreme Black. You definitely need an eye primer before using this though or else it will come right off your eyelids! Also, I noticed when I take my makeup off at night, it comes off as a bluish color which I found was odd.

Finally the mascara! I got this mini sample in a Birch Box and I LOVE it! It's Eyeko London's Black Magic mascara. It does not clump and goes on perfectly!! I also curl my lashes before applying :)

Lastly, I always use a lip balm for the final step. Currently I am using the Summer Fruit by EOS lip balm.

Here is my makeup bag! I do have a lot more unmentioned items that I don't use on a daily basis. I also have 5 other makeup bags (oops!) haha. I am using a clear plastic bag I got from Pink by Victoria Secret that I got a pair of flip flops in. Yes, I did  wash it before using it!

Have a great Tuesday!

Monday Update - BOSTON!

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I don't live in Mexico, so I don't celebrate this holiday but whoever does, I hope they celebrate all day! Today my friends and I are going up to Boston to walk around and shop. I haven't been in 2 years since my high school band played at the Berkley Jazz Festival and we won second in our division! (This year they won first! So proud of them!) Anyway, I will post some pictures from our trip and Wednesday I will post what we ate :)

May the Fourth be with you, Audrey!

So many of you might know, or may not, that today is May 4th and many people correlate that with the phrase "May the Force be with you" from Star Wars. Also, today is Audrey Hepburn's birthday!! She would have been turning 85 today! Many of you might not know this, but Audrey Hepburn is my idol. I didn't know about her until I was in 7th grade though. So that was about eight years ago now, yeesh! So, I was at an art festival in my state that is always around Columbus Day weekend and they have all kinds of crafts. They have clothing, jewelry, FOOD (of course) and different bits and bobs. I usually go every year with my mom, which I did when I was in 7th grade. After we ate funnel cake we meandered into the paintings area and found a guy that did portraits. They were those big headed portraits that were made from pastels. I begged my mom to let me get it done and she unwillingly accepted. After waiting in line, the man doing the portraits asked me if I was  related to this woman named Audrey Hepburn. I had no idea who she was, but he said I looked like her. So I took the compliment and when we got home that evening my mom showed me her collectible Barbie Doll of Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady. I fell in love with Audrey and I have even written school reports on her! She is an amazing woman, from her life growing up during World War II and her final days with UNICEF.
Unlike most Audrey Hepburn fans, my favorite movie of hers is not Breakfast at Tiffany's. I do like the movie, but I hate how she lets her cat go towards the end. I know that may seem silly but I love cats haha. I have not watched many of her movies besides Breakfast at Tiffany's, My Fair Lady, Sabrina and Paris When It Sizzles but I am hoping to watch them all! My favorite is Paris When It Sizzles. I think it will always be my favorite! I just love the story line so much I wish I could live it. I wish I could be like her with guys though. Just ignoring them and them coming to you instead of the other way around. I admire her character so much. I probably will get a tattoo of her some day or a quote or something. She's such an inspiring woman and I hope to be like her some day!

Paris When It Sizzles, of course ;)

I found all the images on Pinterest by searching her name! Xx

Sophomore Year

So, my sophomore year of college is finally over.. well the classes are but I still have exams. I have an online exam for Economics, a portfolio to finish writing for my Writing class, an actual exam Friday for Communications and I have to make a pair of jeans for a fellow classmate in my Modaris class. Next week will be so busy for me! Tomorrow I will be in the school's studio from morning probably until it closes and then my friends and I are going to Boston Monday. They want me to sleep over though so I guess the party starts tomorrow night! haha but then Tuesday I have to work, Wednesday my final jeans are due, Thursday I scored a design interview for a shop on a local island this summer and Friday I have another exam. Saturday? I have no idea. I'm trying to keep busy too because of my 'significant other' that doesn't know how to make up his mind. We're apparently on a 'break' starting today.. it's all weird and new to me and basically sounds like an excuse.
Okay, so enough of that update, I cannot wait for this interview!! It would be awesome to score the internship with this designer and it would be so sweet to get a job in the fall with them! I'm hoping this summer will be a good one. I never really have a 'fun' summer but it will be this year! I need to stop worrying and waiting around for people.
Sophomore year was basically a blur for me though. I can barely remember the fall semester because it went by so quickly! I had a draping and a pattern making class that were the death of me. Literally every class we had something due and another assignment. And they were two different classes! Well I'm glad I got the experience and can put it on my resumé! This semester I had a class on the Modaris computer program which is digital pattern making software. Same as last semester though, it all became a blur with everything being due at once. I'm just grateful I learned a lot this semester and I got to participate in my first fashion show!
This fall I have the second Economics class, a written/reading and oral french classes, a nutrition class and I can finally take the Apparel Design class that I have been trying to get into for the past year! I was scheduled to take it last semester but seeing how only 3 people were in the section, it wouldn't run. Then this semester it was during the Modaris course. I decided to take the Textile Science course next spring so I could take Apparel Design. Maybe I'll be in France next spring though...hmm. I'm still deciding on this because of the 'significant other' issue I mentioned. Well, we will just have to wait and see what happens! Only time will tell :)
This summer will just be a fresh start, to find myself and not let someone in a relationship walk all over me because I'm afraid of us leaving each other. Sometimes I feel like I help change the lives of the people I meet, but I've never had someone do that for me. I would love for someone to pay for my gas when I was jobless and take me out all the time. I don't know why I do things like that for people that treat me badly, I can't help it sometimes. I will change though because I'm worth more than that. On that note, I will talk about the fashion show tomorrow in another post!
